Why haven’t I heard of MotorSilk^TM?

Initially developed by the government, the patented technology has only been available to the public for a few years. Following the development of the Boron CLS Bond_® technology in 1991, MotorSilk^TM and LubriSilk^TM finished oil formulations were used exclusively by industry and manufacturers as a “special situations” or “extreme conditions” lubricant. MotorSilk^TM has only been available to commercial and industrial accounts and the retail consumer market since 2002.

What is the difference between MotorSilk^TM and LubriSilk^TM?

MotorSilk^TM is a product line of concentrated Boron CLS Bond_® technology developed in formulations for engines, transmissions, gear boxes and fuel systems.  MotorSilk^TM Engine Treatment protects the vital working parts of engines from friction, micro pitting, corrosion and wear. This increases engine life, performance and efficiency, and greatly extends time between oil changes. LubriSilk^TM is a complementary product line of finished biodegradable PAO synthetic lubricants such as hydraulic fluid, grease, etc., which are based upon the Boron CLS Bond_® technology with no toxic additives.  Unlike its competitors (WD-40, etc.), the entire product line is 100% anti-corrosive.

What makes MotorSilk^TM different from other engine oil additives?

MotorSilk^TM with Boron CLS Bond_® is the most scientifically advanced lubrication technology in the world. It is not an oil additive product. Oil additives are added in an attempt to improve the lubrication performance of the oil itself. The Boron CLS Bond_® technology does not attempt to condition the oil. Rather, it forms a permanent bond to the actual metal surfaces in engines.  Other lubricants break down and need to be repeatedly flushed and added again.

Is it harmful to the environment?

No. Unlike petroleum-based lubricants and additives, MotorSilk^TM products are completely biodegradable and non-toxic.  In addition, engines which use MotorSilk^TM can significantly reduce emissions and gasoline or diesel usage, further benefiting the environment and providing an easy way for businesses and consumers to enhance their “green” profile.

What other automotive benefits do MotorSilk^TM products provide?

All engines will benefit from an 80% reduction of friction between the moving parts, resulting in 90% less engine wear. Time between routine oil changes extends by double or better. Older engines with pre-existing wear will benefit from an improvement in mechanical efficiency and the removal of carbon, varnish and corrosion, which can yield fuel efficiency gains as high as 20% or more. Newer engines treated with MotorSilk^TM can expect between five to 10% better fuel mileage and will maintain a higher mechanical efficiency over hundreds of thousands of miles of driving due to the superior wear protection MotorSilk^TM provides.

Do you need to add the MotorSilk^TM Engine Treatment at every oil change?

No. One of the key benefits of MotorSilk^TM’s unique process is that once introduced, the product actually bonds with the metal and remains in place in the engine, providing long-term protection – lasts 100,000 miles!  After being introduced into the engine the product takes between 400 to 1000 miles for the Boron CLS Bond_® technology to fully bond to engine surfaces. MotorSilk^TM does not drain out in future oil changes, providing long-lasting results.
